6 Things I Learned My First Year of University
In September 2017, I started a 3 year BSc Psychology course at Royal Holloway University. No matter how hard I tried to persevere, my mental health deteriorated while there and I couldn't establish myself. I met some amazing people and learnt so much from my time there, but ultimately it was not for me. After everything I tried, I realised that this was not what I was meant to be doing and I dropped out of the course in Easter.
I'm now preparing to go back to University, studying BSc Animal Behavioural Science at Greenwich University. I couldn't be more excited to be starting fresh and studying something I'm passionate about, but I won't forget the lessons I learnt from my previous time a uni.

Bullying Bull Breeds
I am a self-proclaimed crazy dog lady, and this post is about an issue close to my heart.
Many of you may not know but in the UK there is a law, Section 1 of the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991, which bans the possession of 4 dog breeds; mainly the Pit Bull Terrier. This law leads to the destruction of thousands of healthy and happy dogs, just because of their appearance. Now I understand that in some cases there is a necessity for legislation against dangerous dogs, however this should be placed upon the owner of the dangerous dog and not a sweeping assumption about all of the breed.

Body Positivity Is Difficult
Just the other night I was watching one of my current
favourite programmes, I zombie. Basically, the main character Liv gets turned
into a zombie loses her life as an engaged cardio-thoracic med student and
works in the NYPD morgue. The morgue means that she eats the brains of murdered
civilians and winds up helping the detective solve the cases due to the
subsequent visions she has from the brain. Along with this Liv often develops
some of the major personality traits of
those she eats, for example there has been a hopeless romantic brain, kleptomaniac,
a soldier with PTSD and an agoraphobic.

University woes
I want
to address something I feel to be an issue surrounding university and the whole
higher education system. In my personal opinion, (and I do understand that this
is just my own judgement that I don’t want to force upon others) I want society
to break this stigma that university is the only valid option after school. I think this is relevant especially today as it is A Level results day.

making my introductions
Well this is my first blog post- DAUNTING.
So please bear with me through this because I'm still trying to get my head around how to neatly organise all my scrambled ramblings into a succinct readable order.
One of my best friends, Lily, is a blogger and when I began to use my writing as an outlet for my mental health issues, I took inspiration from her to start this blog. (Check her blog out for definite--->http://www.lilyroserichards.com/).
Lets get this underway then. I should start by making introductions, I'm Lucy👋.
I think a good way to do this would be to write the typical cliche 10 things about me. Yes. I am going to be that person right now.
